Be yourself when creating videos

Something happens to the human spirit when it is confronted by that tiny circle that captures an individual’s movements and voice from a camera, smartphone, tablet or computer. It’s not as if you turn into someone else when you look directly at that tiny spot. Something happens to the brain. Little voices go off telling us that our moving parts and the sound of our voices should not be captured in that powerful little dot because [we] are not pretty enough; we don’t have anything to say; no one wants to listen.

Well, you’re wrong! Everyone has something to say. Everyone has an experience to share. Be yourself when creating videos. That tiny circle is just that – a tiny circle, ready to capture the beautiful YOU. Your unique experiences, instructions and insights that can show common interests.

Be you. That’s what new clients and customers are attracted to. The authentic you. Look into that tiny circle and be YOU.

Here is an example of how to do an impromptu video. I picked up my smartphone during a video technology class and asked my students what they would like me to talk about. With no preparation, I decided to follow through on their request. It’s authentic. This is me. Be YOU.
